What is the role of a Foreman?

A Foreman is the supervisor of a service area and a mentor to high school students.  In their service area Foremen lead a small group of high school crew members as together they serve the Sky Lodge campers.  A Foreman mentors the high school crew members by setting a Christ-like example in the service area as well as during off time, leading devotions, and taking initiative in relationships.

What is the time commitment for a Foreman?

Foremen make a summer long commitment.   The dates for this year are June 1, 2008 through August 22, 2008. The starting date is firm. The ending date is flexible to allow for college R.A. training, sports training camps,  earlier college start dates, etc.

Are the Foremen positions paid?

Yes. The base Foreman salary is $165.00 per week, plus room and board. Additional raises are given to returning Foremen.  The dorm R.A.s and Worship Leader are given additional compensation for taking on extra responsibility.

Do you have an airport pick up service?

Yes. The nearest airport to fly into is Madison, WI.  We will pick up any staff who come into that airport free of charge.

What are the housing arrangements like?

Our summer staff housing is dorm style. There is one big dorm with bathroom facilities for females and another for males. Within each dorm is a private room and a large cubby-hole type area that provide privacy and semi-privacy for the Foremen.

What is a Prayer Warrior?

Every Zone member has at least one adult who is committed to pray for them while they are in the Zone.  Your Prayer Warrior receives a fact sheet about you that includes your picture, the weeks you are scheduled in The Zone, a brief bio, and list of things you like.  Many of the Prayer Warriors will also write letters and send care packages.
