High School Crew Members
 

 

Welcome to the threshold of a fantastic summer adventure.  To continue down this path is to courageously embrace the challenge of submitting to Christ daily.  

 

Crew: Eligible crew members will have completed their first year in high school. Crew members work during the day on crews in their service area and participate in evening activities with other staff. See below for service area descriptions.

Here’s what it takes:

  • Pray and seek the Lord’s will regarding His plans for you this summer.

  • Read the Job Description below.

  • Print out the Crew Application.  You will need Adobe® Reader® to download this file. 

  •  Or click on the Crew Online Ap. to fill out and submit the application online. (This online application is currently unavailable.)

  • Print out two reference forms.  You will need Adobe® Reader® to download this file. Click on above icon if you need Adobe® Reader®

  •  Give them to the appropriate people along with stamped envelopes addressed to Sky Lodge.  Ask them to return the references directly to Sky Lodge.  (A final decision regarding your participation will not be made until all references have been received.)

Complete these step by March 16, 2008. 

We will review the applications and notify you of your acceptance and schedule by April 4, 2008.  



Zone Crew Job Description

Crew Qualifications:

  • Desires a growing, personal relationship with God.

  • Motivated to serve others.

  • Willing to be stretched intellectually, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.

  • Willing to forego personal rights for the common good of the camp community.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in all aspects of The Zone program.

  • Follow and adhere to the policies and rules of The Zone program as found in the Guidebook.

  • Pursue and build relationships in ways that glorify God.

  • Initiate and participate in clean, fun activities that are pleasing to God.

  • Maintain habits for personal spiritual growth.

  • Follow the direction of your service area Foreman.

  • Be on time and prepared for your service area and other scheduled activities.

  • Strive to maintain a servant attitude in your service area.

  • Maintain a ministry focus towards the campers.

  • Be polite, respectful, and conscientiousness when working with all types and ages of people.

  • Arrive at the beginning of your contract date and time.

  • Remain until the end of your contract date and time.

  • Help clean a cabin and public camp areas at the end of each camp session.

  • Help in other areas of camp as requested and as time permits.

 



Following is a brief description of the service areas for the Crew:

 Barn:  Feed, water, and saddle horses, guide trail rides, clean barn, maintain horse trails.

Hitching Post:  Set up and run the hitching post, clean and restock supplies in cabin and chapel/recreation building bathrooms, clean camp vehicles.

Kitchen: Assist in food preparation, set up and clean dining area and serving room before and after meals, wash dishes for next meal.

Lifeguard: Set up and guard pool during open swims, swim-test campers, clean public restrooms, sweep sidewalks.

Maintenance:  Maintenance work on buildings, grounds maintenance.

Program:  Assist Program Director at meals, work with groups to ensure that program runs smoothly, teach in program areas.
