At Sky Lodge Christian Camp
The Summer Staff program we have is based on
the conviction that we are all in need of continued growth and development. We
actively work to assist youth in building their lives in Christ.
...a
community of servanthood
Being on summer staff at Sky Lodge involves lots of hard work; which is
typical of servanthood. Being a servant means working for the best interests of
others - even though it conflicts with your desires, others may never know what
you did, and you may never be thanked.
That’s hard work. That’s following Christ.
Ways we practice servanthood in The
Zone:
- Help the campers have a great camp experience and meet with God by
serving their needs in one of the service areas
- Give up personal rights and tastes to live harmoniously in The
Zone community.
- Cabin cleaning after the campers leave
...a community of fun and
friendship
Like a family, the summer staff share a rock-hard bond forged through the
highs and lows of doing life together. It’s the stuff of lifelong friendships.
Things to look forward to in The
Zone:
- Free access to all the activities of Sky Lodge
- An awesome staff lounge for hanging out, featuring:
- pool, ping pong, & foosball
- popular card and board games
- comfy chairs and couches
- sound system
- Spontaneous activities - fun with tubes, girl’s wrestling, pillow fights...you decide!
- Girl’s nights
- Guys’ pizza night
- Staff outings on the weekends
- Town trips - ice cream and junk food!
...a community of worship
We sing praises to God. But we worship Him with our actions,
our intellect, our relationships and our attitudes. In The
Zone we strive to worship God with the basic
elements of everyday life.
Ways we nurture a life of worship:
- Encouraging meaningful relationships
- Serving with a common purpose and focus
- Solitude - daily time for one-on-ones with God
- Crew devotions - three mornings a week
- Bible studies - large group followed by small groups
- Growth partners - voluntarily sign up for one-on-one discipleship
- Friday worship - focused worship through music and experiential
activities
- Loving God by serving others
