Saving for Camp – A Realistic Plan

When the camp brochure arrives, it is sometimes accompanied by a version of sticker shock.  Sure, it’s not as bad as looking at the price tag on a new car, but the prospect of coming up with $200+ at one time can cause any parent’s heart to race!  But what if you (and your camper) started saving for camp today?  Take a look at this monthly saving chart to see just how affordable at week at Sky Lodge Christian Camp really is!

Notice that if you start saving in January, your goal is attainable through the equivalent of one pizza delivery for a family of four—just once a month.

Now, where can you put that money to protect it from the urge to order a pizza for the game?  I mean, maybe you’re like me.  I save best using the “out of sight, out of mind” principle – i.e. “hide” it in a place that isn’t easily accessible.  Savings accounts at your local bank are much less accessible than under the mattress.  If those are still too tempting (foiled by the ATM, again!), we are pleased to introduce:
  Camp $avings Accounts at Sky Lodge. 

Starting in January of 2009, families can set up an account at Sky Lodge where we collect and track your incremental camp fee payments.  For ultra convenience, set up automatic monthly payments according to the above schedule so that you’ll never have to worry about paying for camp again!
